Renowned South African artist Big Zulu, founder of Inkabi Records, is set to release his fifth solo studio album, Icala Lempumelelo, on April 11, 2025. The album’s lead single, “Abazazi Bafunani,” featuring Emtee, has already garnered over 2 million views on YouTube within a month of its release.

This 12-track project showcases a fusion of genres, featuring collaborations with Nkosazana Daughter, Aymos, and Sir Trill from the Amapiano scene; Shwi Mntombazane, Siya Ntuli, Zee Nxumalo, and Zeh McGeba representing Maskandi; and Hip Hop artists Emtee, Zakwe, Sjava, Toss, and Xowla. Such a diverse lineup underscores Big Zulu’s commitment to blending various South African musical styles.

To celebrate the album’s release, Big Zulu has planned exclusive launch and listening sessions:

  • Durban: April 8, 2025, from 18:00 to 23:00

  • Johannesburg: April 10, 2025, from 18:00 to 23:00

These events offer fans a unique opportunity to experience the album firsthand and engage with the artist.

Big Zulu’s discography reflects his evolution in the music industry:

  1. Ushun Wenkabi (2018): His debut album featuring singles like “Ang’mazi umama” and “Home.”

  2. Ungqongqoshe Wongqongqoshe (2019): This sophomore release includes collaborations with artists such as AB Crazy, Mnqobi Yazo, Fifi Cooper, Kwesta, Cassper Nyovest, Musiholiq, and Truhitz.

  3. Ichwane Lenyoka (2021): The third album, featuring chart-topping singles like “Mali Eningi,” “Inhlupheko,” and “Umuzi eSandton.”

  4. Ngises’Congweni (2024): His latest solo studio album, released on March 27, 2024.

Additionally, in 2023, Big Zulu collaborated with Sjava to form the duo Inkabi Zezwe, releasing the joint album Ukhamba.
